MEETING MINUTES July 15, 1998
Meeting called to order by President Mark Hazen.
Old Business:
n Minutes from previous meeting read and where incomplete. They will be completed and given to the president for final review and acceptance
n A reminder that members profiles need to be added to our Users Group web site.
New Business:
The president opened the discussion for sub-groups or Special Interest Groups (SIGs). Bill Booth volunteered to lead the AutoCAD Map group. He needs training sessions and will investigate availability. Greg Fielden volunteered to organize the building trades users group. These groups will be open to all interested persons and we will encourage them to join the main users group at the second meeting of the individual SIG meetings.
Bill Booth tentatively schedules the first AutoCAD Map meeting for Aug 19th. That date has been changed to October 22, 1998 at the City of Redding, Conference Room A.
Linda Lowell will set up a Users Group E-mail list of all users and inform these people of upcoming events.
We would like to get Tim Corey more involved with the current group.
All attendees introduced themselves and gave a brief description of there type of employment.
Mark Hazen, NORCADD - Machined parts background, drafting; using AutoCAD LT. HP plotter service and repair technician.
Bill Booth, Chec Concultants – Paving contractors who have designed a program for surface conditions using Geopoint. Currently using ACAD 10 and 14.
John Boyle, Between The Lines – Associate Instructor using ACAD 13 and Softdesk.
Greg Fielden, Unity Electric – Commercial applications for ACAD, 12 years in the building trades
Jim Eilts, Between The Lines – student, new member with construction and trades background both commercial and residential.
Troy Devereux, Between The Lines – student, new member with construction experience and a business owner in the Sonora area.
Jeff Clausen, Siskiyou County Assessors Office – Using ACAD 12 and 14 and Map plus has Microstation experience
Ron Wallace, CH2M HILL – guest; is a Spanish teacher and translator working on ACAD 14 and 3D, plus does C++ programming and uses Turbo Pascal.
Linda Lowell, CH2M HILL – Engineering Technician, AutoCAD and Microstation drafter
Mark wants to know how Visualbasic related to AutoCAD? Can anyone give him some info?
Bill Booth gave a report on the Autodesk AutoCAD users meeting held in San Rafael sponsored by AUGI at the Autodesk headquarters. He and Dave Jones attended the demonstrations, seminars and discussions. They brought back a hat and wrist pad which were raffled off at our meeting. Also, Bill would like to take a group from here to the meeting next year. Bill will keep us informed.
